This piece of work is inspired by the magic red thread of fate originated from Chinese mythology.The matchmaker god will connect 2 people with the red thread which will be tied on both parties’ wrists or fingers so that they are destined to meet and fall in love with each other. The magical thread is invisible and never broken. The nails on the boards create a complicated path for the red yarn to go through but the 2 ends of the yarn meet anyway at the back of the board which indicates that my husband and I have met and fell in love with each other despite the fact that we come from different countries.
